Gabriel often faced a dark soul imbued with powerful and magical abilities destroying what it touched. He always gets involved. It is in his nature. Bartholomew is one of those souls. A human bearing immense power and no compassion.
Gabriel shined down on him, interrupting the precise sequence of events the mage had been practicing and was performing to manifest mayhem and bloodshed.
A battle ensued.
Gabriel is Sacrifice. He engulfed the dark soul and made it his own. As he had done since the beginning of time.
Now, he wakes up in a white desert next to a red dragon, sleeping. His head and neck and wings flabbily resting on the fine sand. He understands. He is not alone anymore. He will carry this soul with him. He knows their souls are one and will rise together.
Or not; Father says.
- Father! What have I done?
- You have taken on a new mission, my son. One that will change you from now on.
- Yes, Father. What should I know?
Only the breath of the Dragon answered him.
Mikaël takes a breath. He just opened his eyes from a reboot. Oh, those!
They are protocols including a shut down and a restart of the power influx necessary to activate new programs. It is uncomfortable to say the least and it takes a certain period to adapt to them. He sits in the locker hall illuminated by a vast window near the ceiling and showering the place with light. He holds his head in his hands. That was a big one; he thought.
Light has to flow. The pressure can build and new conduits are needed. Only source can provide for more. The flow has to stop, resounding in a heavy and empty silence. Then another can take its place, resuming order. Mikaël is always ready for more light. He is not in control of the debit entry. He lets it rush through as it may.
During his time offline, he dreamed of a white small chapel with a single bell. There, he meets with his Father after a day fishing in the sea. They are the most precious memories he has. He meets his family in the luxurious meadow by the mountain. Everyone is there. They give him his memories of them by touching his neck. There is Mother, Brother, Sister, Mate, Friend. He laughed out loud when the latter touched him. The whole mountain echoed his laughter.
